This prospective meeting builds on their prior summits—October 2025 at APEC and January 2026 in Nara, Japan—where leaders pledged enhanced cooperation on economic security, supply chains, and regional stability amid North Korean missile threats and tensions with China. The shuttle diplomacy underscores pragmatic bilateral efforts to counter shared geopolitical risks, with formal confirmation of the itinerary likely to influence market resolution ahead of any specified deadline.
