This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 14 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Recent Hong Kong Observatory guidance and ensemble model consensus point to a daytime maximum near 30–32°C on August 14 under typical subtropical summer conditions, with scattered showers, thunderstorms, and variable cloud cover expected to moderate peak heating. Persistent low-level moisture and a broad trough over the South China Sea favor convective activity that limits insolation and caps temperatures, while climatological baselines for mid-August already average around 31°C. The tight clustering of market-implied probabilities between 30°C and 32°C reflects genuine forecast uncertainty arising from small differences in timing and coverage of showers versus clearer intervals, as well as minor variations among regional and global models. Traders appear to weigh the balance between these factors, with any last-minute shift in cloud or precipitation forecasts likely to tip resolution toward the upper or lower end of the narrow range.
