Key variables include the degree of afternoon cloud cover that could cap insolation, the strength of urban heat island effects at the official Central Park station versus surrounding airports, and minor differences in boundary-layer mixing. Historical September maxima average near 77°F, so current warmth reflects a transient warm-air advection pattern without significant moisture or frontal passage. Real-time observations through late afternoon will resolve the narrow spread before market close.
