Israeli airstrikes and evacuation orders have intensified around Tyre in southern Lebanon since late May 2026, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure amid broader operations to secure territory south of the Litani River. The IDF has advanced toward the city and surrounding districts through ground maneuvers in adjacent areas while issuing repeated displacement warnings covering the urban center and Christian quarter, prompting mass civilian outflows. Ceasefire talks facilitated by the US in early June produced temporary halts and commitments to limit strikes on Beirut suburbs, yet cross-border exchanges and southern strikes persist. Hezbollah maintains rocket, drone, and anti-tank capabilities in the region, complicating any potential ground push into the densely populated coastal city. Trader assessments hinge on whether Israeli forces expand limited incursions amid ongoing diplomacy or prioritize aerial degradation of threats before any urban commitment.
