U.S.-mediated talks, including those in Paris earlier this year, produced a joint intelligence-sharing mechanism for military de-escalation, while Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa has tied any final pact to guarantees on pre-2024 borders and the Golan Heights status. These developments reflect ongoing diplomatic efforts under U.S. pressure to reduce risks along the shared frontier, though progress has alternated with setbacks such as reported last-minute hesitations on broader normalization. Traders assessing timelines for an accord monitor further high-level meetings and statements from Damascus and Jerusalem for signs of concrete implementation steps.
