Recent National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model runs indicate a high near 99°F for Austin on September 19 under sunny skies, light southeast winds, and a strong high-pressure ridge promoting clear conditions and efficient daytime heating. This places the market's tight clustering between the 96-97°F and 98-99°F bins in line with the consensus range, while the low probability assigned to 100°F+ reflects limited upside from typical September climatology and minimal moisture for added heat retention. Afternoon peak temperatures remain sensitive to small shifts in cloud cover or boundary-layer mixing, introducing the modest spread traders are pricing.
