Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus point to a high near 97–99°F for Austin on September 18 under strong high pressure, clear skies, and light east-southeast winds that favor maximum daytime heating with negligible cloud cover or moisture. These conditions align with the market’s heavy weighting toward the 98–99°F bin at 54.5 percent and the secondary 96–97°F and 100–101°F outcomes. Above-normal September temperatures—driven by a persistent upper-level ridge—support this range, while minimal rain chances and dry boundary-layer air reduce cooling effects. Official verification from primary stations will resolve the market, with final forecast updates expected overnight as any late adjustments to insolation or advection become clearer.
