Recent National Weather Service forecasts for New York City indicate mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower 80s on August 29, driven by northerly flow under high pressure that limits moisture and cloud cover while allowing strong daytime heating. Model consensus supports peak temperatures near 82°F, though slight variations in boundary-layer mixing, wind speeds of 5–10 mph, and any residual humidity could shift the maximum by 2–4°F. These factors explain the tight clustering around 78–81°F in trader sentiment, as small differences in insolation or advection determine whether readings reach the lower or mid-80s. Updated model runs and afternoon observations will refine the exact high before market resolution.
