Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to an overnight low in the mid-60s°F for Chicago on September 16 under mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Persistent cloud cover limits radiational cooling while light northeast to east winds and elevated dew points near 60°F moderate temperature drops. These conditions support the tight clustering of market-implied odds around 64–67°F, with modest probability mass on 57°F or below reflecting residual uncertainty in shower timing and boundary-layer mixing. Historical September climatology shows average lows near 58–59°F, but the current pattern favors values several degrees above that baseline. Updated model runs and the next NWS forecast discussion will provide the clearest near-term signal ahead of market resolution.
