Current National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to overnight lows of 78–80°F in Houston on September 7 under southerly flow, elevated dew points near 75°F, and limited radiational cooling from cloud cover and humidity. This aligns with seasonal norms slightly above the 1991–2020 average minimum of 74.5°F, with only modest day-to-day variability expected from scattered afternoon storms. Trader sentiment on the extremes likely reflects residual uncertainty in storm timing or subtle steering patterns that could allow brief clear-sky cooling or warmer advection, though consensus has narrowed around the mid-to-upper 70s range as the period closes.
