Current National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to a September 7 high in Chicago of 77–82 °F, aligning with the market’s leading 78–81 °F bin at 36.5 % implied probability. Northeast flow off Lake Michigan is expected to moderate peak readings near the lakefront while allowing slightly warmer conditions inland, keeping values close to the 1991–2020 normal of 79 °F. Limited model spread and stable synoptic pattern support the tight clustering around 76–81 °F, yet the two-day forecast horizon leaves room for minor shifts in cloud cover or wind direction that could alter the daily maximum by a degree or two before official observations finalize at O’Hare.
