Official NWS guidance and ensemble model consensus point to a daily high in the upper 80s for Miami on August 26, driven by southeasterly flow, elevated moisture, and a 40-50% chance of afternoon thunderstorms that can cap daytime heating through cloud cover and evaporative cooling. Recent observations from Miami International Airport show Tuesday’s peak near 90-91°F under partly sunny conditions, providing a warm start, yet increasing dew points near 78-79°F and heat indices above 100°F signal greater convective potential tomorrow that historically trims actual maxima by 2-4°F when storms initiate before peak heating. Sea-breeze interactions along the southeast Florida coast and steering from the Bermuda high further support this setup, consistent with late-August climatology where Miami averages 87°F. Updated short-range model runs and the next NWS discussion will refine timing of any convective initiation and its impact on the observed high.
