Forecast models from agencies including the Met Office and ECMWF currently indicate a maximum near 29–30°C in Milan on September 21 under partly cloudy to overcast skies, light easterly winds, and negligible precipitation risk. This consensus supports the market’s tight split between the 30°C (40%) and 29°C (33.5%) outcomes, with minor differences arising from cloud-cover timing and localized urban heat-island effects that can shift the daily peak by 1°C. Historical September averages near 24–26°C provide context for the elevated readings, while the low probability assigned to 31°C+ reflects limited model support for further warming. Updated short-range guidance expected later today will likely refine the exact peak and influence any final shifts in trader positioning before resolution.
