Recent thundery showers forecast for September 22 under prevailing southwest monsoon conditions are the main factor capping daytime heating and driving trader consensus toward 32–33°C. Official Meteorological Service Singapore guidance projects a 34°C high with late-morning and afternoon convection, yet model runs and historical patterns show that widespread cloud cover and rainfall often suppress maxima by 1–2°C below clear-sky potential. September’s long-term average daily maximum at the climate station is 31.6°C, while the first half of the month saw frequent readings above 34°C before increased shower activity. Upcoming NEA updates on shower timing and intensity, plus any shifts in regional wind convergence, remain the key variables that could alter the 43.5% probability on 32°C versus the lower odds on 34°C.
