**Recent polling and seat models show the Parti Libéral du Québec (PLQ) positioned for roughly 27–37 seats in the October 5, 2026 election, with most aggregates centering near 31–36.** This range aligns with the tight Polymarket distribution across the sub-40 bins, reflecting substantial uncertainty in how fragmented voter support translates into ridings. The PLQ’s vote remains heavily concentrated on Montreal Island and among anglophone and allophone voters, where it consistently polls above 40–50 percent and secures most of its seats efficiently. Outside these areas, francophone support hovers near 14 percent, limiting expansion and leaving the party dependent on defensive holds rather than broad gains. Meanwhile, the broader race features a tightening contest between the Parti Québécois and Coalition Avenir Québec, with recent Synopsis and Léger surveys showing the CAQ closing to within a point or two of the PQ while the PLQ slips to around 20–23 percent. Rising support for the Parti Conservateur du Québec further fragments the non-sovereigntist vote. This multi-party dynamic, combined with many projected close PQ-CAQ races and stable regional patterns, produces wide confidence intervals in seat models and keeps PLQ totals clustered in the mid-20s to high-30s. Late-campaign shifts in francophone turnout, second-choice consolidation among federalist voters, or riding-specific swings in Greater Montreal or the Quebec City region could move the PLQ meaningfully above or below its current central tendency before election day.
