**Current forecasts for Cape Town's September 2 maximum temperature center on 18–20 °C under a stable high-pressure regime with southerly flow and mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.** Model consensus from sources such as GFS and ECMWF shows peak afternoon readings near 19 °C, driven by moderate solar insolation in early Southern Hemisphere spring, light winds limiting mixing, and minimal cloud interference that allows efficient surface heating. Small differences among 18 °C, 19 °C, and 20 °C outcomes hinge on exact cloud fraction, boundary-layer moisture, and any subtle shifts in wind direction that could enhance or suppress onshore cooling. Historical September averages near 19–20 °C provide context, while the tight market probabilities (19 °C at 43.5 %, 20 °C at 36 %) reflect traders weighing ensemble spread and the narrow uncertainty range typical of short-range, high-resolution guidance. Updated model runs and local observations over the next 12–24 hours will be the key resolution drivers.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=fact
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event which there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C.
This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
