Latest high-resolution forecasts from GFS and regional models indicate clear skies, light southerly flow, and strong daytime heating over central Spain, positioning Madrid’s September 3 maximum near 38–39 °C. These conditions build on an established late-summer ridge that has already produced consecutive days above 35 °C, with minimal cloud cover and dew points in the low teens allowing efficient surface warming. Ensemble spread remains modest, yet small differences in boundary-layer mixing or slight shifts in the 500 hPa ridge axis could tip the daily peak between the two leading outcomes. AEMET and ECMWF updates expected within 24–48 hours will provide the next high-confidence adjustment before resolution.
