The contest for Langley Township mayor centers on incumbent Eric Woodward's Progress For Langley slate facing challenger Jay Lundgren of the Langley Strong team, which includes several sitting councillors. With voting scheduled for October 17, 2026, the race remains close because both sides have assembled full council slates and are actively campaigning on local issues such as development, bylaws, and governance. Recent months featured disputes over election signage enforcement and a court challenge seeking to disqualify some candidates, highlighting divisions that keep voter sentiment divided. Trader consensus assigns Woodward a modest lead, consistent with typical incumbent advantages in municipal elections, while Lundgren benefits from organized opposition momentum that could narrow or reverse the gap ahead of election day.
