Latest National Weather Service forecasts project a high near 97°F for Austin on September 4 under partly cloudy skies with a 20% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms, consistent with multiple models showing upper 90s amid south winds of 5-10 mph. Trader distribution, peaking at 92-93°F, reflects uncertainty over how much convective cloud cover or brief storms might suppress the daily maximum versus clearer intervals allowing readings closer to recent 99-100°F values. With the climatological average high near 94°F and ongoing late-summer heat, resolution hinges on final model runs and observed peak before 7pm local time.
