Ron Nirenberg, the Democratic nominee and former San Antonio mayor, holds a commanding lead in the 2026 Bexar County Judge general election against Republican Patrick Von Dohlen, scheduled for November 3. Nirenberg defeated incumbent Peter Sakai in the March Democratic primary and maintains a substantial fundraising edge, reporting more than twelve times the cash on hand as his opponent through mid-2026. Bexar County's consistent Democratic voting patterns in countywide races reinforce trader consensus around his position. Von Dohlen, a conservative activist who ran unopposed in the Republican primary, faces structural challenges in mobilizing sufficient support. Late developments such as unexpected shifts in turnout, major campaign finance changes, or unforeseen controversies could still alter the race before election day.
