Anthropic’s recent launches of Claude Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6 in February 2026, each featuring a 1-million-token context window and strong benchmark gains in reasoning and coding, have set the stage for Claude 5 expectations. Traders are watching for the next flagship large language model release, widely projected for Q2 or Q3 2026 based on internal codenames like “Fennec” and the company’s pattern of incremental upgrades. Competitive pressure from OpenAI and Google’s advancing models, combined with Anthropic’s focus on safety-aligned agentic capabilities, continues to shape sentiment. Key catalysts ahead include potential developer announcements or earnings-related updates that could confirm timelines or reveal new multimodal features.
