The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=klga This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data is unavailable or missing for the observation period, Weather Underground will be used as the secondary resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Official National Weather Service forecasts for New York City on August 28, 2026, indicate a high in the mid-80s under partly sunny skies following the passage of a frontal system the previous day.** Behind the Thursday trough and associated showers, west-to-northwest flow brings drier air with only a 20% chance of light morning showers and highs centered around 82–84°F at Central Park and area airports. Model consensus supports this range, with limited afternoon heating due to residual cloudiness and modest dewpoints in the upper 60s. Trader sentiment clusters on 82–85°F bins because small variations in clearing timing, wind shift, or urban heat retention can push the daily maximum across the 83–84°F threshold, while historical late-August climatology (normal highs near 82°F) anchors expectations absent stronger ridging. Updated NWS briefings and model runs remain the key near-term catalysts.
