Incumbent Kuomintang magistrate Wang Chung-ming holds a dominant position in the November 28, 2026, Lienchiang County magistrate race, reflecting traders' assessment of his strong incumbency advantage in Taiwan's most reliably KMT-leaning jurisdiction. He formally entered the contest alongside former rival Tsao Erh-yuan, who registered in mid-June after challenging him unsuccessfully in 2022. Limited opposition activity from other parties has reinforced expectations of continuity, with no major recent developments altering the competitive landscape. The market's elevated pricing on Wang tracks the structural partisan tilt and absence of significant late-cycle disruptions ahead of the vote.
