**Consensus forecasts from the National Weather Service and major models project overnight lows in the mid- to upper-70s for Austin on September 2, 2026, as a strong late-summer heat dome maintains hot, humid conditions with minimal frontal influence.** Daytime highs near 99–100 °F and a slight chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms could modestly affect the diurnal range, but steering patterns favor continued southerly flow without significant cooling. Historical climatology for early September shows typical lows around 70–74 °F, so current guidance represents above-average warmth. Market-implied odds cluster around 76–77 °F because recent model runs show limited spread, though small differences in boundary-layer moisture or timing of any convection introduce uncertainty that keeps probabilities for cooler bins (69 °F or below) and warmer extremes competitive. Updated NWS briefings and evening model cycles will be key near-term catalysts.
