This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Tokyo Haneda Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 26 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=rjtt To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Official Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts and ensemble model consensus point to a daytime high of 33–35 °C for Tokyo on 26 August 2026, with the market’s tight clustering between 34 °C (36.5 %) and 35 °C (29.5 %) reflecting this narrow range.** Persistent summer high pressure and above-average sea-surface temperatures in the western Pacific have sustained elevated baseline warmth, while the urban heat-island effect in central Tokyo can add 1–2 °C above rural stations. Afternoon cloud build-up and a modest chance of late showers—already signaled in several guidance runs—could cap the peak near 33–34 °C if convection develops earlier than expected; conversely, clearer skies or delayed precipitation would favor 35 °C or slightly higher. Historical late-August maxima average ~31–32 °C, so the current setup represents modest positive anomaly. Traders are therefore focused on the next 48-hour model updates from JMA and global ensembles, particularly any shift in timing of the rain threat or adjustments to boundary-layer mixing, which will determine whether the highest reading settles at the lower or upper end of the favored 33–35 °C window.
