Recent National Weather Service and private model consensus for Houston on September 3 points to partly sunny skies with a 30-40% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, supporting highs primarily in the upper 80s to low 90s. Southeast flow and elevated humidity are expected to limit full solar heating while scattered convection could further cap peaks, aligning with the market's heaviest positioning on 88-89°F. This range sits near the long-term early-September average of 89-91°F at local stations, with no strong high-pressure ridge or frontal passage currently indicated to push extremes higher or lower. Updated NWS briefings and next model runs will refine the exact maximum before resolution.
