Official forecasts from Environment Canada, issued September 7, call for a high of 25°C in Toronto on September 8 under mainly sunny skies transitioning to a mix of sun and cloud, with a humidex near 28°C. This consensus, supported by regional model runs and consistent across multiple sources, underpins the market's strong preference for 25°C. Historical September averages near 23.5°C provide context, while light southerly winds and limited cloud cover favor the upper end of typical ranges. Traders appear to weigh the stability of the forecast against minor uncertainties in afternoon heating or localized variations, with lower-probability outcomes reflecting potential for slight under- or over-performance relative to the official reading. No major model shifts have emerged in recent updates.
