Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance points to overnight lows in the upper 60s to low 70s for Chicago on September 5, with northeast winds off Lake Michigan providing moderation and limiting radiational cooling. High humidity and a slight morning storm chance may further temper the daily minimum. Multiple ensemble members cluster near 70–74 °F, producing the tight distribution of market-implied probabilities across the 68–75 °F bins. Updated model runs expected later today, along with any shifts in steering flow or lake-breeze timing, represent the key variables that could refine the exact low before resolution. Historical September climatology shows an average low near 63 °F, underscoring how this warm pattern elevates current trader consensus.
