Current National Weather Service and model guidance point to persistent warm advection under southwest flow, sustaining mid-70s overnight lows for Chicago on September 3 amid late-season heat and humidity, with scattered thunderstorms offering limited nocturnal cooling. This setup supports market-implied odds clustering in the mid-70s to low-80s while the 35% probability on 67°F or below captures residual uncertainty from potential model shifts, convective outflows, or a faster frontal passage. Historical September 3 averages near 63°F underscore how anomalous the current pattern remains, and traders weigh upcoming forecast updates against climatological baselines when assessing resolution thresholds.
