Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance for Austin on September 3, 2026, shows overnight lows centered in the mid to upper 70s amid continued southerly flow and limited radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies with a 30-50% chance of showers or thunderstorms. This setup produces a narrow spread in expected minima, with ensemble members differing mainly on dew-point depression, boundary-layer mixing, and exact timing of any convective outflow. Historical climatology places the September 3 average low near 71°F, yet the current warm anomaly and lack of a strong frontal passage keep probabilities concentrated between the 69°F-and-below and 78-79°F buckets. Traders are therefore weighting the latest high-resolution runs and any updated NWS forecast discussions that could shift the lowest temperature by a degree or two before resolution.
