Recent July 2026 CPI data showing a 3.4% year-over-year rise, down from 3.5% in June and in line with consensus, combined with Cleveland Fed nowcasts projecting 3.36% for August, anchor trader expectations near 3.3–3.4%. Easing energy price pressures following earlier Middle East-related spikes, modest shelter cost moderation, and a 2.5% core rate have supported the slowdown trajectory. Elevated geopolitical risks and potential volatility in gasoline or food components remain key swing factors ahead of the September 11 release, with Polymarket odds reflecting aggregated capital-weighted sentiment on these near-term dynamics.
