Lula maintains a dominant position in Alagoas first-round projections at 82.5% implied probability, reflecting the state's consistent Northeast voting patterns favoring Workers' Party candidates among lower-income and Catholic voters. National polling from early August shows Lula at 38-44% overall, well ahead of Flávio Bolsonaro and others, with regional strength amplifying his edge locally ahead of the October 4 vote. The market's even 50% pricing across many lesser-known contenders and lower odds for right-leaning figures like Ronaldo Caiado or Romeu Zema underscore the fragmented opposition and limited inroads in this traditional base. Recent candidate registrations and running-mate announcements, including Alfredo Gaspar's ties to Alagoas, have not altered the established regional dynamics.
