In Mato Grosso do Sul’s agribusiness-heavy electorate, trader odds reflect a fragmented first-round contest ahead of the October 4 vote, with no candidate holding a decisive edge. National polling shows President Lula leading Senator Flávio Bolsonaro overall, yet the state’s conservative leanings and economic priorities boost right-leaning options including Bolsonaro, Ronaldo Caiado, and Romeu Zema, while vote-splitting among multiple contenders keeps implied probabilities tightly clustered. Recent campaign launches on August 16, completed party conventions, and the absence of major late-breaking state-specific events have sustained this balance, with local turnout patterns and potential endorsements or regional economic signals likely to create separation before election day.
