Current forecast consensus from National Weather Service models points to a high near 90-91°F in Atlanta on September 15 under sunny skies and moderate easterly winds, driving the 56% market-implied probability for that bin. This aligns with late-summer high-pressure patterns that suppress cloud cover and limit moisture, pushing temperatures above the 83.7°F climatological average while falling short of extreme heat thresholds. Recent model runs show limited spread, with minimal risk of stronger warming or cooling influences over the next 48 hours. Traders appear to weigh the reliability of these short-range guidance products against typical September variability, where afternoon maxima can shift several degrees based on boundary-layer mixing and wind strength.
