The Cambridge, Ontario mayoral race remains tightly contested ahead of the October 2026 municipal vote, with traders assigning Jan Liggett roughly 44.5 percent, Scott Hamilton 34 percent, Ryan Bolender 21.5 percent, and several others in the low single digits. Liggett’s bid for a second term faces a crowded field that includes sitting councillor Hamilton and recent entrant Bolender, alongside lower-profile challengers, after some withdrawals narrowed options. Local tensions, including council disagreements over agenda procedures and a June 2026 Pride event interruption, have kept the contest competitive without producing a clear frontrunner. Further candidate exits, release of local polling, or focused debates on municipal services and regional issues could shift implied probabilities by clarifying voter preferences among the remaining contenders.
