The Chiclayo mayoral race remains fragmented heading into the October 4, 2026, vote, with a large field of admitted candidates preventing any single contender from consolidating support. Recent July 2026 polling shows Edwin Vásquez leading in some surveys around 20-33%, while others such as César Rodríguez Valderrama, Miguel Ángel Bartra Grosso, Nilton Chafloque Córdova, and Carlos Peña Reluz hover in the low-to-mid teens, reflecting vote splitting across parties and independents. Trader consensus reflects this uncertainty and the absence of decisive late-campaign momentum or major endorsements. Further separation could occur through additional polling releases, candidate debates, or shifts in local alliances before election day.
