Current National Weather Service and ensemble forecasts for New York City on September 2 point to overnight lows near 70°F amid high humidity, widespread cloud cover, and showers driven by a moist easterly to southeasterly flow. These conditions limit nocturnal radiative cooling compared with clearer, drier nights that would allow lows to drop into the mid-60s. Model consensus shows only modest variability in boundary-layer moisture and timing of precipitation, keeping the distribution tightly clustered between the upper 60s and low 70s. Updated NWS guidance and short-range model runs expected in the next 24–48 hours will further refine the exact minimum recorded at LaGuardia or Central Park.
