Mary Peltola holds a dominant position as the expected top vote-getter in Alaska’s August 18 nonpartisan Senate primary, where the top four advance to the general election under ranked-choice voting. Her substantial fundraising edge, with $6.9 million raised since April compared to incumbent Dan S. Sullivan’s roughly $2 million, combined with high name recognition from her prior House tenure, has consolidated support in a crowded field of 16 candidates. Minor entrants, including a second Dan J. Sullivan listed without party affiliation on the ballot, have drawn limited attention and failed to shift momentum. Late-July polling and campaign finance reports reinforce trader consensus around her plurality finish, though the brief window before voting leaves room for last-minute turnout shifts or ballot-order effects to alter exact margins among the leaders.
