This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Republican Party to contest the FL-09 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Republican primary will take place on August 18, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Republican sources, including https://www.rnc.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market. The tight contest for the Republican nomination in Florida’s 9th Congressional District stems from a crowded seven-candidate field and a recent redistricting that shifted the seat into Republican-leaning territory ahead of the August 18 primary. A late July Victory Insights poll showed Jorge Martinez, Thomas Chalifoux, and Ben Butler statistically tied near 14 percent, with Dan Green within the margin of error, reflecting fragmented support among likely primary voters. Candidates differentiate on economic concerns, military experience, and local governance records, yet none has secured a decisive edge through endorsements or standout events. Late developments such as final-week turnout efforts, targeted advertising, or shifts among key voter blocs in Central Florida could consolidate support and widen the gap before ballots are cast.
