Chang San-cheng, the incumbent Kuomintang mayor of Taoyuan seeking re-election in the November 2026 local elections, holds an overwhelming trader consensus at 88.5% implied probability, reflecting his established local position and early polling leads over potential Democratic Progressive Party challengers. The DPP's April 2026 nomination of Huang Shih-chieh as the main opponent has not shifted momentum, with Huang priced at just 2.1% amid limited reported movement in voter surveys or campaign events since the July KMT candidate rally. Other listed contenders remain at minimal or placeholder levels, underscoring the race's focus on the two major parties' standard-bearers and the structural advantages of incumbency in Taiwan's special municipality contests.
