Hsu Hsin-ying holds an overwhelming lead in trader consensus for the Hsinchu County Magistrate race due to her March 2026 KMT primary victory over incumbent Deputy Magistrate Chen Chien-hsien and subsequent party nomination as the standard-bearer. The KMT has controlled the county since 2001, providing structural advantages in local organization, voter base consolidation, and campaign infrastructure ahead of the November 28 vote. Recent party efforts to mend internal divisions from the primary, including coordinated rallies and unity messaging, have further reinforced her position. DPP nominee Cheng Chao-fang, selected in June, trails as the main opposition contender but faces an uphill path in a county where KMT incumbency effects remain pronounced. Lower-priced candidates reflect limited viability in the current multi-candidate field shaped by these party-line dynamics.
