Chen Su-yueh, the Democratic Progressive Party legislator nominated for Changhua County magistrate, leads the market at 83.5% implied probability ahead of Taiwan’s November 28, 2026 local elections. Her position stems from the DPP’s early and unified nomination process, her established local profile in the county, and the absence of a comparably strong challenger. Kuomintang deliberations over Wei Ping-cheng as nominee, following Liu Ho-jan’s March 2026 withdrawal and internal party discussions in April, have kept that outcome at 9%. Former DPP mayor Chiu Chien-fu’s June 2026 resignation from the party to run independently sits at 7%, with remaining listed candidates at single-digit or lower levels reflecting limited organizational backing or polling traction at this stage. Trader consensus incorporates the DPP’s structural advantages in candidate selection and the compressed timeline before voting.
