The Piura provincial mayoral race remains tightly contested ahead of the October 4, 2026, municipal vote because a large field of candidates—including Miguel Gerardo Cueva Celi, Alberto Alonso Ordinola Niño, and several ex-regional officials—has produced no clear frontrunner. Trader prices reflect this fragmentation, with leading probabilities clustered in the 20–40% range and many others at or near even odds. Recent campaign activity, including candidate registrations and local polling mentions, has yet to consolidate support behind any single contender. Separation could emerge from scheduled debates, party endorsements, or shifts in regional voter turnout patterns over the next six weeks.
