Recent polls show the AfD gaining ground in Berlin ahead of the September 20, 2026, state election, with support reaching 17–19% in surveys from July and early August, occasionally placing first or in a tight race with the CDU, Linke, and Greens. This reflects broader national momentum for the party, including leads in concurrent eastern state contests in Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, where the AfD is positioned for strong results or outright majorities. Trader consensus around 29–31 seats aligns with current vote-share projections in a parliament of roughly 147 seats, subject to the 5% threshold and proportional allocation. Late shifts in turnout among eastern districts or responses to national government actions could still adjust final seat totals.
