Recent forecasts for Cape Town highlight a cut-off low pressure system approaching from the west, expected to deliver cooler northwesterly flow, increased cloud cover, and scattered showers on September 14, limiting daytime heating compared to the preceding Sunday. Official guidance from the South African Weather Service and ensemble models shows daytime maxima clustered around 17–20°C, with the highest readings hinging on the timing of any breaks in cloud or rain and the strength of onshore winds influenced by the cool Benguela Current. Historical September averages near 18–20°C provide context, yet short-term model spreads introduce genuine uncertainty around whether peak values reach the low 20s or remain in the upper teens. Updated SAWS briefings and next model runs will likely refine these details ahead of market resolution.
