Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service and multiple models indicate a highest temperature in New York City on September 22 most likely in the mid-60s°F, with northeast winds and lingering moisture from a coastal system limiting daytime heating under mostly cloudy skies and a 30% chance of showers. This setup follows heavy rain on September 20 that cooled the region below seasonal averages near 75°F, with Monday's highs already dropping into the upper 60s. The tightly clustered 18.5% market probabilities across 56–74°F bins reflect forecast sensitivity to exact cloud cover, shower timing, and boundary-layer mixing, as small shifts in the steering pattern or insolation could easily move the daily maximum by several degrees within the typical model uncertainty range for a 48-hour outlook.
