**Forecast consensus for Shanghai on September 18 centers on a daily maximum near 29°C, driving the market's leading implied probabilities of 44.5% for 29°C and 34.5% for 28°C.** Multiple operational forecasts from sources including the China Meteorological Administration-aligned models, Met Office, and international providers such as WeatherBug and Globalmeteo converge on highs of 29–30°C (84–86°F) under mostly cloudy skies with light northerly to northeasterly winds and low-to-moderate humidity. These conditions limit strong daytime heating while preventing significant cooling from widespread rain. Subtropical Shanghai in mid-September typically experiences highs in the upper 20s to low 30s as the East Asian monsoon weakens and continental air begins to influence the region. Current model runs show modest cloud cover and isolated light precipitation potential (20–40% chance), which caps peaks near or just below 30°C. No active typhoon or strong frontal system is forecast to alter steering patterns or bring anomalous warmth or cooling in the next 24–48 hours. The modest probability for 30°C (16.5%) reflects residual uncertainty if afternoon clearing occurs, while lower outcomes remain unlikely without an unexpected surge of cooler air. Updated model guidance and observational data from the China Meteorological Administration over the coming hours will be the key near-term catalysts for any shifts in trader positioning.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=zspd
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
