Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance for Austin indicates overnight lows on September 9 clustered in the mid-70s, driven by persistent southerly flow, elevated dew points near 70°F, and limited nocturnal radiative cooling under mostly clear skies. This setup favors minimum temperatures around 76–79°F at official stations, consistent with the market’s closely bunched leading outcomes near 74–79°F. Historical September climatology shows average lows near 70°F, but the current warm advection and high heat-index regime have kept readings several degrees above normal. Traders weigh small model spreads in boundary-layer mixing and any late-evening cloud increases that could nudge the exact minimum, with resolution hinging on the official Austin-Bergstrom observation.
