Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus point to a daytime high in the upper 80s for Los Angeles on August 30, driven by persistent summer warmth, limited marine layer influence after morning fog clears, and light southwest winds. This positions 82–83 °F as the market leader, reflecting traders’ assessment of typical coastal moderation at official stations versus inland peaks near 90 °F. Recent August heat anomalies, with downtown readings 5–10 °F above the 1991–2020 normal of ~77 °F, support elevated but not extreme outcomes, while model agreement on clearing skies and no significant onshore push keeps probabilities concentrated in the low-to-mid 80s. Updated NHC and local office guidance tomorrow morning will refine the exact maximum before market resolution.
