Clear skies and light southerly winds under high pressure are allowing strong daytime insolation to drive Seattle's peak temperature on September 18 toward the low 70s°F, consistent with model consensus and recent observations near Sea-Tac Airport. Afternoon heating is tempered by the marine influence and modest humidity, keeping values below the September average high of roughly 70°F only slightly. Trader consensus favoring 72-73°F (42.5%) over 70-71°F (39%) reflects the balance between forecast model spreads and urban heat effects versus official station readings, with low probabilities assigned to outliers above 74°F or below 68°F given stable synoptic conditions and minimal cloud cover through the afternoon.
